Smile – people are more likely to approach a friendly face, even if that individual doesn’t require your services it is always nice to converse with like-minded people and build relationships.

Give out your business cards – even if someone doesn’t need your services at present, they may do in the future or one of their clients or friends might. It never hurts to put your business out there.

Don’t forget to listen – people love to talk about themselves, so asking people about their business is just as vital as telling people about your own. Knowing about other businesses around the area enables you to make recommendations to your own clients.

Follow up – make sure you follow up with any of the business cards you collected. This is great to build relationships with others and connect with any potential leads.
